Welcome to our classroom!
In the back of the room, we have our Math center, bulletin boards and computer equipment.
To the left is our Math teaching tools, such as counters, shapes, and attribute blocks.
This is our information center or "cubbies" where the children store their backpacks, homework folders, classwork and handouts. On top, sits our school supplies, such as pencils, glue sticks, markers and Elmer's glue.
To the right is our front door, Raising A Reader bags, and bulletin board that highlights the author we're focusing on.
Our largest bulletin board features the children's art projects. Below, is the listening center where the children get to listen to a story as they follow along with a book. To the left is our kitchen play center, complete with a stove, refrigerator, sink and food.
At the front of the classroom is our white board where the daily writing assignments are projected. To the left is our Board Math center. Each day, the children are challenged with mathematical problems.
This is where the children sign-in in the morning, and then the helper of the day draws a picture represerting our letter of the week.
On the back cabinets many things are displayed: book check-out/in classroom library card pockets, school rules, volunteer information, birthdays and additional artwork children have completed for the teachers. Above the cabinets are more teaching tools in bins marked by month.
Along the side wall, our large windows let in lots of light for our carpet time. Toys and teaching tools are stored in the cabinets below.
This bulletin board is right above the carpet where the children gather for learning. Each morning, the children tell the date, day of the week, weather, and a tally of the children who have lost a tooth.
Also next to the carpet is our question-of-the-day board. Each day the children must place their name tag below "yes" or "no" to answer the question. To the left of that board is our reading center. Large books are read to the children every day.
A photo of our classroom book collection is missing. Check back soon.
